My Bar's upstair function room is the perfect place for your next birthday party, office drinks, or corporate do.
With a private bar all to yourselves, My Bar can look after almost any kind of function. We've hosted birthdays, Christmas parties, product launches, seminars, and much more. The room has its own toilets and smoking area, as well as customisable lighting, and a music system at your disposal. We specialise in New Zealand craft beers and boutique wines, as well as quality spirits and our lists are updated every couple of weeks to reflect the season and to showcase new products.
We offer a range of catering options, and also welcome outside catering. Please note, we are a small bar, and do not have a full commercial kitchen. If in doubt, just ask, we are more than happy to help.
The function room features a dynamic sound system, with fully independent controls, amplifiers, subwoofers and speakers.
Choose one of our many playlists, make requests from over 15,000 songs on our Nightlife music system, or use the inputs for DJ and iPod equipment to further customise your music.
A 42” HDTV Plasma screen is also available for use, as well as VGA PC/Laptop inputs for showing presentations and slideshows. Please note this is not USB compatible.
How We Can Help
Booking our Room?
Booking functions at My Bar is easy. We have a $200 hire fee, this also acts as a booking confirmation for your event, after that we have an easily reachable minimum spend of $500. During the week (Monday-Friday) the hire fee is refundable, and will be returned at the conclusion of your event subject to conditions. Due to the nature and demand for Saturday nights however the hire fee is non refundable. You can pay the hire fee via internet banking or drop into the bar, and pay at the bar. We will email you to confirm your payment and booking. Due to the high demand of the function room we always recommend you pay the hire fee as soon as possible to secure your function and avoid missing out on the space.
Easy Catering Options
At My Bar you are welcome to self-cater your function, and we are happy to provide platters and crockery. We have some basic kitchen appliances you can use for reheating, at a small fee. Alternatively, you can leave it up to us as we have a tapas plates and platter menu available. Food orders must be received at least a week in advance of your event.
Extensive Drinks Options
We have a great range of beverages and there is always something for everyone, and we have brilliant bar staff who can whip up something special for your event. BYO is not available.
Easily Managed Tabs and Subsidised Drinks
We have the ability to run computerised bar tabs and subsidised drinks, so you can relax without having to worry about stretching your budget.
Terms and Conditions
The hire of our function room is subject to a few terms and conditions which are fairly standard in most hospitality establishments. As we are a bar there is no BYO of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. All bars are required to abide by the Sale of Liquor Act and therefore we may have to refuse entry to anyone breaching this Act. If there is any damage or loss of property by you or your guests you will charged and this is payable on the night of your function. We have a strict no glitter and/or confetti policy during any function. As there are apartments directly in front of My Bar we reserve the right to control the music volume levels. At the end of the evening if the minimum spend is not reached, then the organiser of the function is subject to pay the outstanding amount at the conclusion of the night.
